Day 3 Begins in Farrington Gurney

Ready for the off with Stage 1 heading through Bristol and then over the bridge into Wales ending at Llandogo for lunch.

Heading north for the first time makes it feel like the end of the beginning.

It's dry and warm but a short shower as they moved off meant taking some wet weather gear in case.

Last night we ended up in a room so small that it felt like a The Cure video filmed in a wardrobe. We know each other very well now.

PS Van is still a mobile washing line / sauna!

Still going strong

Just expecting them in the next 30 mins before going off to YHA in Bath.

They have a huge climb to complete before a long coast in to finish Day 2 Stage 4. It's been a dry day and they've done well. Found a great place for lunch in Taunton town centre. The boys were delayed slightly due to Clive having a big blow out on a downhill stretch. All quickly repaired and no damage done.

Thanks to Jude for the supplies at Taunton. Just made Stage 3 finish line as the boys arrived. Technically, I think they beat me..........

For some reason we are booked into the Ladies dormitory tonight at the YHA..... I think they'll be annoyed by the snoring........ mostly mine, apparently (!).

Day 2 Stage 1 - On Schedule

Stage 1 over as they cross the finish line.
All smiles ....... despite the 20% hill climb a few minutes before!
A quick coffee and then on to Stage 2 and Taunton for lunch.

PS Van still smells..........

Getting ready to start

It's DRY!
35 Miles for Stage 1. Everyone is in good form and the rain is hopefully gone for today. Bruno wearing Le Maillot Jaune today...... it's one of the few dry pieces of clothing!

Sadly, the smell in the van keeps the memory of the damp alive!

Late afternoon update

Stage 2 was completed but was 3 miles longer so that a late lunch could be had in Camelford. It's very wet with persistent rain but all 3 are still going strong.

They are on stage 3 now heading into Launceston and should make it to the van for a drinks break soon.

Stage 4 of 15 miles to go and then off to the B&B.

They will have done 100 miles today. 80 of it in the rain.

Ready for the start!

Thousands turned out to see them off..... well actually a coach load of German tourists, a dog and 7 seagulls!

8:55am and they start.

It's cloudy and very windy but should be a tail wind.

Now 10 minutes after they've left and it's raining but hopefully just a shower!
